This policy indemnifies the Insured in respect of his legal liability to pay compensation for :

• bodily injury (including illness) to any person; and/or
• loss of or damage to property belonging to third party

as a result of the negligence of the insured or his employees or by any defect in the premises.

In addition, the policy pays for the costs and expenses incurred by the Insured with the Company’s written consent as well as costs and expenses recovered by the claimant.

This scheme is exclusively designed to insure foreign workers legally employed in Malaysia. The annual premium is RM67 per foreign worker + RM5 SPPA service charge. (excluding RM10 stamp duty and 5% service tax).

Summary of Coverage

Section 1: Workmen’s Compensation Insurance
Payable for death or disability arising from injury by accident or disease arising out of and in the course of employment.
 
COVERAGE BENEFITS
1. Death

RM18,000 or 60 times monthly salary whichever is lesser. In case of accidental death in the course of employment, an extra sum of RM7,000 will be payable.
2. Funeral Expenses
(if the deceased workman has no dependants)
Up to RM1,000.

3. Permanent Total Disablement RM23,000 or 60 times monthly salary whichever is lesser.
4. Temporary Total/Partial Disablement

Half monthly payment of RM165.00 or 1/3 of monthly salary for a max of 60 months whichever is lesser.
5. Medical Expenses As stipulated under the Workmen’s Compensation Act.
 
Section 2: Repatriation Expenses
Payable for the costs of transportation of the insured workman to his/her country of origin in the event of death or permanent total disablement up to the actual expenses incurred or RM4,800 whichever is lesser.
 
Section 3: Repatriation Expenses
1. Payable in respect of personal injury sustained in an accident outside the working hours.
2.

RM23,000 will be paid in the event of death or permanent total disablement occurring within 12 months of the accident.
3.
Temporary disablement and medical expenses will be in accordance to the Workmen’s Compensation Act 1952

The policy indemnifies the Insured against liability at law to pay compensation and claimant’s cost and expense in respect of injury to the employees arises which arises whilst in the course of employment with the Insured for which it is liable. In addition, the policy may pay all costs and expenses with the company’s written consent.

For those categories of employees not protected by the Workmen’s Compensation Acts or SOCSO, liability at law still exists and the employee can obtain indemnity under the Employer’s Liability Policy.

This insurance provide cover to bodily injury or property damage arising out of products manufactured, sold or distributed by the Insured or by others trading under his name. The injury may arise from the defective manufacturer, incorrect labeling, wrongful instructions, inadequate warnings or defective packing materials.

The policy is written on a "claims-made" basis with costs and expenses being inclusive in the Limit of Indemnity. There is an aggregate limit expressed as the maximum amount for any one period of insurance.

A professional person owes a duty of care to his clients. A professional risk is mainly caused by advice or opinion-based which means their main exposure is financial loss. They are liable to their client for any breach of professional duties or responsibilities. Hence, a Professional Indemnity policy is effected to provide cover to the Insured against the breach of professional duty, by reason of any negligent act, error or omission, wherever committed or alleged to have been committed by the Insured or any person employed by the Insured in their professional capacity.

The policy is on "claims-made" basis with an aggregate limit of indemnity specified for anyone period of insurance. The policy will also pay cost and expenses incurred with the written consent of the company in the defense or settlement of any such claim, subject to the Limit of Indemnity.

This policy indemnifies the Insured against all sums for which the Insured shall be liable to pay compensation to any employee for personal injury sustained by accidents or occupational diseases arising out of and in the course of employment :

• under the Workmen’s Compensation Act 1952 and the subsequent amendments to the Act or
• at Common Law

In addition, the policy may pay for all costs and expenses incurred with the company’s written consent in defending any claim for such compensation.
