Mr Sumi's Interview (Translation) 15/2/2008 The president of TMNF Ins. Mr Shuzo Sumi visited Malaysia, Thailand and India. He responded to the interview of NNA on 15/2/2008 in Kuala Lumpur, which went as follows:- Key Note : Among the rapidly growing overseas affiliates our general insurance in Malaysia has been growing quite remarkably which result in improvement of ranking from 11 th to 6 th in these two years. We have established 4 major business here, namely, in addition to the general business with 50 years presence, newly entered Life and Takaful (Islamic Ins), and also Reinsurance in Labuan. Also its localization has been successfully in progress. We are now aiming at further expansion of the existing business with strategic options, and also starting an effort to get Malaysian affiliates listed locally in future. Wear it Pink 3 - "Pink Ribbon of Life" Pantai Medical Centre in collaboration with Asia Assistance Network (M) Sdn Bhd launched Wear It Pink Breast Cancer Education & Awareness Campaign at Dewan Pantai, Pantai Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur on the 3rd July 2007. The campaign was declared open by YB Dato Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Minister of Women, Family and Welfare. TMIM is participating in the campaign for the 3rd time as Platinum Caring Partner & Sponsor and our sister company TM Asia Life also has come in as joint sponsor. Two major events were planned for the campaign : 1). Road shows - will be held in Penang, Ipoh, Malacca, Batu Pahat & Klang Valley and started on 11 August 2007 in Endah Parade (Seri Petaling) Kuala Lumpur. TMIM is allocated with a booth for each Road Show and we will get our Branch personnel to participate in the Road Shows along with TM Asia Life. Tokio Marine eyes spot in top 5 insurers list by 2010 10/03/2007 TOKIO Marine Insurance Malaysia (TMIM) plans to be among the country's top five players by 2010, and part of this would be driven by deals made by its parent. The firm is a unit of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co Ltd, Japan's largest general insurer. Tokio Marine & Nichido, a unit of Millea Holdings Inc, recently bought Singapore's Asia General Holdings Ltd, which operates life and general businesses in Malaysia via Asia Life (Malaysia) Bhd and Asia Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd respectively. NUTP - TMIM Home Partner Launching 08/02/2007 TOKIO Marine Insurance Malaysia (TMIM) launched the TMIM-NUTP Home Partner Insurance for members of the National Union of Teaching Profession (NUTP). The official ceremony was held on 8th February 2007 at the Century Mahkota Hotel, Melaka and graced by Y.B. Dato' Noh B. Hj. Omar, Deputy Minister of Education, Malaysia (4 th from left), Ustaz Hj. Ismail Nihat, Presiden NUTP (3 rd from left), Pn Loke Yim Phen, Sec. General NUTP (5 th from left) and Tuan Haji Ahmad Fadzli, Chairman, TMIM (far right) amongst others.
